Every time you leave me
I watch you drive away
The only things I think about
Are the things I couldn't say.

I couldn't say I'll miss you
I couldn't say goodbye
I couldn't say I care for you
Before I started to cry

I couldn't say I need you
I couldn't say goodnight
I couldn't say I love you
It wouldn't come out right

I mean every word I say
All these things are true
If you'd only believe them
When I said them to you.
