The Way

by Alyssa   Dec 2, 2005

I'm on my way to the top,
But you drag me down again.
Push me back to the ground.
I become the dirt, that I feel I am.
I wish I was someone else.
You wish you were someone else.
But I want to be beautiful,
And you want to popular.
I'm not meant for you anymore,
I don't fit into your puzzle.
Not the way you want me to.
I gave to much love for you to handle.
You don't know what this love is.
But you took it.
Along with heart, ripped it out,
And never gave any of it back.
You're selfish, but I learned to deal.
I didn't let it bother me,
And I'm still not.
I just want you to love me,
and I need you to be around for me.
My shoulder to cry on,
And my Worth for the winter.
I'm here for you, and you know it.
You just don't care the way you should.
