My son

by chris bullock   Dec 7, 2005

Back in two thousand one,
my life changed so much.
I had a little son,
so warm to the touch.

The doctor smiled,
and said here you go.
Congratulations you're a dad,
and the tears started to flow.
At first i didnt understand,
everything i needed to do.
I was a boy becoming a man,
standing there holding you.

Your mom and me arent together,
but we love you still.
You are strong and we will weather,
right now always will.
And as you grow,
you will keep getting older.
And you will always know,
you can lean on my shoulder.

Now its two thousand five,
and you will be four.
O god its great to be alive,
and i love you even more.
You tell me you love me,
and yes i know it's true.
I'm as happy as can be,
just like any father would do.
