MY HEART

I love the circulatory system
My heart is my favourite muscle,
It’s even better than the trapezius, deltoids and biceps,
Seriously I am not kidding, the heart is cooler than the triceps!

I love how the arteries take deoxygenated blood to the lungs
And how the veins bring it back in.
I love the vena cavae
The septum and of course the tricuspid valve.

I love my resting heart rate,
My blood pressure; diastolic and systolic
I love my haemoglobin,
My platelets
And the fact that my maximum heart rate is 220 minus my age.

It is so cool because the heart circulates blood around me
It transports water and oxygen to all the cells
And wastes away from them.
I love how it maintains the correct temperature and helps fight disease.

Capillaries fascinate me and so do the red blood cells and the white blood cells.
And who could go past the pulmonary circuit (I so know what that means)

This all means so much to me,
Because I learnt it in P.E
And I listened in science once as well
And I learnt the small structure in the cytoplasm of a cell,
That maintains the metabolic is called an organelle.

But that is not as interesting as the heart
Because the heart is so oxygeneriffic.
