Loves Requiem

by Samey   Dec 11, 2005

Holding you in the arms of my soul,
I see all the things that brought us together,
And those that ripped us apart,
Love and deception caught in a tango of misery,
Your lies stick to my heart,
Stabbing it slowly while the tears stream down my face,
The only word that can be uttered is "why?",
As you stare at me and apologize for all the deceit,
How could I ever forgive you for killing my trust?
You never loved me, but its OK I didn't love you either,
This passion once so innocent has vanished into darkness,
And all that's left is us, standing in the shadows,
You turn your back on me, on everything once believed in,
The blanket has been pulled back and I see you for the first time,
You whisper goodbye and shut the door,
I fall to the floor singing a requiem for the lost in our war.
