G oo d b y e

by Mallory   Dec 24, 2003

The curtains closed
the sheets turned down
the light left on
but you\'re not around
fresh flowers on the table
petals float and wilt away
this house so lonely
with nothing left to save
the old wood floors
still creek with every step
so cold and distant to my heart
this remembrance should\'ve kept
and our favorite lazy chair
placed in the same spot
never onced moved
never once forgot
those night we kissed for hours
and you said you loved me
in the doorway where we stood
now seems so empty
as i stand alone
with nothing left to see
i hold that bracelet
you said to forever keep
one thing i held on to
was merely a memory
when i let go of you
