The whisperer

by Galen Dangler   Dec 13, 2005

I hear
out in the dark
a whisperer

And he whispers
and he is saying something
But i can't quite make it out

Then the whisper gets closer
and more distinct i hear
He says quietly "Winter is coming"
"close up shop my dear"

And there he is so graceful
a Hawk as big as life
With claws sharp as diamonds
hooked beak like a knife

He flies off with his mate in tow
And off to the south they fly
And as he leaves so do I go
This whisperer and I
