Two negatives combined.

by Martyna   Dec 13, 2005

Nights spent
running through empty parking lots.
Laughter,
as I turn to look at you,
to taste those lips.
But your lips always seemed to criticise me.
And at times like this
I come to realize
that the bad outweighs the good.
Time continually changes things,
And Im sorry but
I cant change this.
I tried so hard.
But we are like two negatives combined.
We dont mesh,
intertwine,
blend,
or synthesize.
Open your eyes.
What we had
was great,
but only from the outside.
All along we were slowly picking away at eachothers lives.

Combined/intertwine/synthesize/eyes/outside/lives... did you mean to rhyme all those? Cause it works wonderfully. Maybe if you played with the rhythm a bit... or not, it's beautiful as it is as well. Great job, naturally.
