Moon and Wind

by Erica   Dec 25, 2005

His old white face is looking down
The moon sits among the highs
As he slowly circles the small Earth
Hes singing to the skies

Wind comes out to sing with moon
Go dancing with the starts
Maybe drift out far enough
To touch the skin of Mars

The wind came out one empty night
To sing with moon once more
Wind skids across the ocean waves
Dances along the shore

But as wind slowly drifts up
To greet moon's old white face
Moon has hidden behind vast gray clouds
Light gone without a trace

Before wind can even speak
Moon pours down all his pain
Dumping from his vast gray clouds
Moon's melancholy rain

Wind wishes he could call to moon
And sing him songs of grace
Maybe moon would brighten up
And show his old white face

Wind's voice can't push past moon's rain
His travel is blocked as well
wind has no other choice
But to return to ocean's swell

Wind dreams moon with soon cheer up
And stop crying all his rain
So wind can chase away the clouds
And cure the moon's deep pain

Wind hopes he can come out to sing with moon
Go dancing with the stars
Maybe drift out far enough
To touch the skin of mars
