The Days Before Grace [Dec 30, 2005]

by Ian Robert   Dec 30, 2005

I found some stories that I wrote about a girl
She was the one; she was my whole entire world,
We built up all our dreams on a silver pedestal,
Our life together was the perfect moment,
Everything was right, in my darkened winter life,
I don't see how I could loose it in one night of strife.

Frosty windows leave frosted hearts,
Cold and frozen letting no one in.

Angels must have bad aim; they are the ones to blame,
His arrow flew askew and missed her heart,
Tearing me down with elegance as if it were an art,
Finding pleasure into taking what we had apart.

I want to see your smile,
I feel like a victim before the trial.

You left me dear, when my kiss became a scar,
I could smell your fragrance from afar,
I still have memories of you getting into your car,
Come and take my hand, please don't let this be the end.
