Bittersweet Lullaby

by *black*and*white*   Dec 31, 2005

A whisper of dark stillness,
A note of the night,
Singing softly to me,
But away from my sight.

A voice of angelic sadness,
A dancing silhouette,
Both horrific and wonderful,
Sleep is quiet yet.

A breath of silver stardust,
A soft, sad cry
Spinning all around me,
A bittersweet lullaby.

Your first stanza drew me right in to this poem. Though I can't seem to grasp hold of what exactly it means to you... but I kind of have a meaning in my head after reading it couple of times, not sure if I got it right though. =)

Your descriptions on this poem is great, it creates vivid images. It's mysteriously written. And though it's sad, it leaves me hoping for more. Thanks for sharing. =)
