A Chance to Fly

by Rae   Jan 2, 2006

You've turned me inside out, removed all my barriers
and still I cling to you
I come to you for the comfort I need
For those scarce moments where the world slips away
and all the pain is gone
and I can be me, and you can be you
and together, we can be something real

You know I've hurt and you know I've been bruised
but you hold me with gentle hands
and tell me that I can fly if I just let go
So I release all my strongholds
and look into your eyes
as I leap off the edge, into the unknown
I discover wings I never knew I had

You give me my hopes
And my dreams long forgotten
Somehow, you let me fly
And when I come back down
You take me back into your arms
To the one place I feel safe
And show me how beautiful the world can be

You never cease to put a smile on my face. You've done an excellent job of capturing our relationship in it's purest form. This really touched me, it's great to get little reminders of just how you feel about us. :)
