Count on me

by Sam   Jan 9, 2006

She felt alone in this world
Life was hard being a teenage girl
She had this one friend that was always there
To call in the night when she felt scared
Her head was filled with unimaginable things
She tried to let them go but they were tied to her with a string
It was so hard to hide it
But sometimes she let a little out, just a bit
She sat on her bed wishing she was dead
But she had promised her friend shed be with her until the end
She thought to herself the ends coming soon
As she sat in her bathroom with just the light of the moon
Razor in her hand saying this is it this is the end
Memories racing through her mind then came in her head her friend
She put down the razor and got up crying
She stopped herself though she felt like dying
The next day at school she acted like herself
Whispering keep this to yourself
Here comes her friend down the hall
She wasn't going to tell her not at all
within 2 seconds her friend whispered in her ear
You can count on me I'm always here
She thought how could she have known
As she walked home cold and alone
Again that night she sat with her razor
Remembering what her friend had said to her
The words were repeating over and over
This was it her life was over
She slowly brought the razor to her wrist
With one last breath away she slit
Just then her friend burst through the door
And she saw her friend lying on the floor
Her friend said, "What happened i said you could count on me."
Her response so low she said," I know you can i just didn't want you to have to deal with me."
Just before she died all she could hear
was the faint whisper " If you go i go, that way I'm always here."
She tried to stop here before it was too late
But she saw her friend laying and would not awake
She tried to cry but had no time
And said for thing before she died
"You were my friend, the best friend of mine."
