Your Last Show

by Brook   Jan 9, 2006

Those drugs arent the way to go
They arent the escape you see,
but yet you run right to them
Just experimenting you say
Nothing can happen right?
But you dont understand,
Cant see the dark lonely road youve taken
Everyone watches
As your perfect future
Fades away, into the background
A memory wrapped in fog
That you remember less and less
With every experiment
People are leaving now,
Your show is over.
Nobodys interested any longer
But through the fog we stare
The only ones left,
In youre used to be full crowd
Waiting for the fog to lift
For you to say the show goes on
We watch in ernest
As the fog grows darker
Pretty soon we cant see your shadow
Everythings disappeared.
we listen closely
to hear you and see you
As you step back on stage.
Your dreams in your hand,
You light up and they turn to ash.
This is the end of the show
You whisper with dead words
And we watch
As you take your last bow.
