In Your Arms

by So-Not-Normal   Jan 14, 2006

I woke up this morning
With a smile on my face
Because I was so excited
For me & you to be in the same place

I was waiting for so long
For the moment I could see you
Imagined it in my head
I hoped you wanted to see me too

When I finally arrived
I saw you standing there
You had your sexy jeans on
And some gel in your hair

Just then I got scared
You looked so out of my league
I knew I couldn't have you
That my efforts wouldn't succeed

I thought I was wrong
But then my fear was justified
Because some girl came over
You wrapped your arm around her side

I just stood there dumbstruck
Like I was frozen in time
I had to shed a tear
Because you were supposed to be mine

You looked over at me
Your face had no expression
I realized you had no idea
That you had made a strong impression

I walked away from that moment
Finally seeing what I should see
I came to the conclusion
That in your arms I'd never be.
