Eulogy

by Tate LaBianca   Jan 20, 2006

I remember
The very first time
You looked into my eyes
And I felt whole.
The shy smile
on your perfect lips
A mirror of my own.
My tremulous, fluttering heart
Once, so cold
Now, so warm.
The blood rushing through my veins
First Love

Could you hear it?
The wind,
blowing through my soul?
For You
For Him
For Me.
I'll never know
If you even existed.
But it doesn't matter,
You died
Long before he left me.

I sit here,
Thinking about you
and my soul
Isn't as empty as I thought.
The beautiful memories
You gave me.
No longer hurt.
And I can look back
On our love
And smile.
