What is Love?

Love

What is Love?

What is love, other than pain and regret?
Hurt and trying to forget?
A lie, and pretending to care, then not to?
A heart broken, long over due?

What is love, more than tears, enragement?
Blindness from a dead relationship?
Anger, produced by deceit?
A broken heart, lying in defeat?

What is love, besides a mere impossibility?
Two people trying to go beyond their own incapabilities?
A futile attempt that ends in sorrow?
A hope, a wish, you'll still b together tomorrow?

What is love, if it never works, even if it happens?
It only hurts, and your spirit dampens?
Changes me, make my soul die?
Yet its yearned for, and i wonder why

I'll tell you why, because in love is the happiest you can be
When in love, that person is all you really need
Together you happily build memories
Without thinking about when one of you may leave

What is love? Nothing more than being complete?
The joy that only that special person can bring?
The feeling that in tomorrow, theres forever?
The thought of always being together?

What is love? Other than knowing you have someone to hold?
Knowing theres someone who calls
you their own
Having that moment, that perfect kiss?
Constantly happy, in incredible bliss?

But what is love, when the happiness burns to a crisp?
When you no longer have the person who gives you that bliss?
When you despise the memories you used to appreciate?
And the person you once loved the most, you now hate?

Love is the stuffing, that fills in your empty space
And when its gone theres no way it can be replaced
And your left alone and hurt and having to move on
Love is realizing you really did have him, and now he's gone
