So Close, But So Far Away

by Drapes   Jan 23, 2006

There's you. There's me.
Your hand brushing against my waist give me a sense of security.
There's you. There's me.
Your sense of humor and curiosity are a sign of purity.
There's you. There's me.
You spread you fingers and wait for a soft smooth hand to slide into yours.
There's you. There's me. There's her.
She fills your hand and lays her head on your arms. Like she's done so many times before.
There's you. There's her. And then there's me.
The space between us not 12 inches, but 12 miles, 12 years, 12 reminders of her existence.
There's you. There's her.
Caught in the moment. Picture perfect, how you hold her so protectively and she clings to you as to never let you go.
There's you. There's her.
And that's all that matters.
