Sonja - My Fire

by ntv650   Jan 11, 2004

Don't stand too near me,
For I might hurt you.

Don't take too long,
I will only miss you more.
I don't trifle with the lives of men,
I decide, then leave or send them to hell.

I cannot escape your gaze,
It is I who has hypnotized you.
You bestow me with that passion in your eyes.
Your face, blank, in awe.

You need me, I do not need you.
Imprisoned by the simple laws of physics.
If I were free, would you forgive my disloyalty?

---
I don't ponder with this naked flame,
I keep my distance but protect it from the rain.
How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?

How can I warm my hands if all i do is get burned.
How can I extinguish you if your imaginary?
What magic is this, from which I cannot avert my eyes,
From this light, this burning inferno inside?

I have you trapped, I have you not.
A spark, at the right time and all is lost.
To turn this reality, into a burning hell,
in which you can thrive and feast on both the living and the dead.

How dare you steal my free will,
I cannot stand nor live without you.
Discovered by someone else along the passage of time.
I trust to meet more of your kind.
