I Am (part 2)

I am a U.S soldier
I wonder what it would be like to fight in Iraq
I hear bullets fly pass my ear
I want to run away from it all, but I have to stay and defend my country
I am a U.S soldier

I pretend to aim my rifle at my enemy's chest
I feel the cold blood drip down my face as I Squeeze on the trigger
I touch the Enemies flesh with my metal bullet
I worry that I won't make it to heaven for killing some ones son.
I cry when I think of his mom getting a letter, saying that his life was taking away
I am a U.S soldier

I understand that most soldiers never make it home from war
I say that I will return home over and over to calm my self down
I dream of the day they give me a purple heart, and my family watching from the front sit
I try to keep a clear mind of all the blood and bodies I have seen lying in the dirt
I hope that god gives me the stealth to precede though this blood bath
I am a U.S soldierâ?
