An Infernal Decision (Part 1)

by Ozymandias   Feb 4, 2006

Im staring at the mirror, it is only my pale reflection that I see,
So why does this image frighten me?
This strange person does not perfectly resemble myself,
But rather some alternate body of mine from another land,

Come with me, he whispers, Into a place where you can fill your every desire,
a land where your body will no longer tire.

How are you able to speak to me? I demand.

He says nothing, but only extends his foreboding hand.

Decide quickly, it is your choice

I begin to think, but I dare not use my voice.
I have no friends or family anymore,
Everything in my life is just a bore.
I look up, he peers into my eyes and says,

This comes as no surprise.

He takes my hand, and the mirror becomes a gate,
As I plunge into it, my entire being is filled with anguish and hate.
We arrive in a building, where thousands of ordinary people are waiting in a line.
I look up at a large enthusiastic sign, that reads. . .

Welcome, all who are not divine.
