Teenage Love

by crystal flaig   Feb 9, 2006

They call it puppy love,
They say it's not real.
But for those who have experienced it,
It seems so unreal,
Like it's too good to be true.

It feels like the gentle tug,
of you heart from your chest.
Like the wind through the trees.
Feels like you've been up,
all night with no rest.

And when it's all over and done with
You don't think you could last,
Without that person who you shared
Your heart with, but it's too late,
He's put you in the past.

And when you find yourself in love again
It's never quite the same.
you keep apart of yourself safe and hiding.
Guarded and waiting for the hurt,
Knowing that it's coming.
Secretly preparing yourself for the worst.
Until the end.

Gone is the thirst for love.
Gone is the lust for him.
Gone is the passon you crave.
Gone is his hand from yours.

A feeling that you miss so much,
A feeling of being safe in the arms
of a loved one.

And it's true what they say,
You don't know what you got till it's
Gone.
