I'm back after 2 years! This is probably more of a love poem rather than a Valentine's day one, but I plan to read this on the 14th to a girl I recently met and like. ^_^ Please vote and comment so I know if it's ok to read to her.
I always have problems writing a poem like this,
They never seem complete, something amiss.
The ideas swirl around in my head like fish.
"Close your eyes and it will come to you." "Hah! I wish!"
I wonder what you think of me.
Am I much to look at? Do you like what you see?
Cam says he can read me like a book.
That I can be deciphered, all in a single look.
If you were a book, I'd never put you down.
I'd take you everywhere with me, carry you all around.
Okay, time to get started! I close my eyes.
The sound of my background music slowly dies...
Within my mind, I roam about your rose maze.
It's like a dream, I stumble along half-dazed.
Strangely, I'm enjoying myself. I don't consider this place a trap.
Basking in the warm glow of your presence, I throw away the map.
I round a corner and there you are straight ahead,
Glowing like an angel, Halo above, white-feathery wings spread.
I pick a blue rose and hand it to you with a wink. Wait... blue? There's no such thing... this makes no sense.
You lift it to your face, blushing a rosy pink and breathe in its delicate fragrance.
Your smile makes me light-headed, I'm lost for words.
The blood in my head migrates south, just like a flock of birds.
My heart's set on you, like a racehorse with jockey and blinker.
You got me, Xia, I took your bait, hook, line and sinker.
I'll be reading this to her in a place that has Ultraviolet lights (Blacklights) And I plan to hand her a white rose on cue with the poem.. The UV lights should hopefully make it glow a bright blue. lol. If anyone has better ideas, please comment, thanks.
