Bed Time Story

by Kayla   Feb 11, 2006

Crawling through the house
Hiding under the bed
Dont breath too loud.
Footsteps pounding on the ground.
Light fills the room,
The door opened.

Remain motionless,
Theyre here.
Opening the closet door,
Nothing in there but clothes.
They slam the door angrily,
But its safe for now.

Whats this? They come closer to the bed,
Hide under the stuffed animals and blankets quick!
A man leans down looking to where you were moments before.
Minutes pass Did he leave? Is it safe?
Suddenly you hear them cursing in anger,
A sigh of relief, you are still unnoticed.

Something slowly moves across the floor
A cloaked hand reaching for your leg.
Pull your knees up to your chest..
Another hand reaches for your arm and succeeds..
Pull away; lash out, Yet nothing helps
You slide across the floor looking up at the shadows

You open your eyes, hands clutching the sheets.
Sitting up, sweat dripping from your face
Its morning time glance around the room.
Only another nightmare and nothing more
