Angel Devine

by livefreebright   Feb 15, 2006

The stars shone bright as the winter came near
Though I looked up at them with eyes full of fear
Where do I turn now when I can't see a thing
The stars brought no guidance, where can I fly with one wing?
I searched the night sky for the brightest light
And asked my own angel to help me take flight
And sometime later through the blackness it shown
The brightest light I'd ever seen, that i had ever known
Too amazed to believe that my wish could come true
I thank the angels for sending me you
When there was nowhere to run you took my hand
You pulled me up off the cold ground and helped me to stand
You gave me my wing so that I could fly
High above the clouds and watch the people pass by
My sweet angel, she is alive in you
And shows her love through all you do
Sent here for me to protect and to love
The things she can't do since she is at rest above
Through your eyes I can see her when you stare into mine
You are my earthy star and she my angel devine.

To my Grandmom, my angel, and my amazing boyfriend Mike.
