they ask me

&& it hurts
when i reply \"no\".

he tells me he cares
& he calls when he\'s bored.
and as i sit by the phone
i wonder
--if ever he will call.

a kiss goodnight
on a chilly friday
seals the deal
and i want to slip away
with him...

we\'ve tried this before
it didn\'t last long
i don\'t want to think about him
but he\'s on my mind
& his friends say
