Protector of Forbidden Isle

by Psychopathic   Feb 18, 2006

Along the shores of Forbidden Isle,
lay the lair of a mythical beast.
With green-blue scales and bright yellow eyes
he keeps invaders away from his isle.
Whenever a ship draws near,
he attacks with vicious rage.
He tears the people’s flesh with his jagged teeth
and rips the boats apart with his massive claws.

All through the underbelly of the isle
are cave mazes.
He uses these caves and tunnels
to swim swiftly from one side of the isle
to the other.
This is where he watches and listens,
waiting for the next ship to come.

For those who live on Forbidden Isle,
he is their guardian, their protector.
He keeps his people safe.
He plays with the children in the surf
while keeping his eyes on them.
He helps the fishermen
by herding the fish into their nets.
In return,
the people feed and take care of him.
Here he is king,
almighty ruler of the shores, reefs, and shoals.
Here he is the protector of Forbidden Isle.

This is very narrative. And I like the little tale behind it. Very interesting concept.
