Silvery Bliss

by Abby   Feb 25, 2006

Pendulous branches shelter me
as spring's rain falls so softly
upon my white cotton dress.
I stand barefoot beneath the silky willow.
Crystal beads slip down
her cascading silver ribbons.
They drip
drip
drip down
to kiss the fertile earth,
joining the dew of the morning
beneath a warming quilt of fog.
Beautiful rain, which hides tears
and melts souls like mine.
The earth is mourning.

Pale ivory blooms rest
on the palm of my hand.
I shake them
and throw them
and smile as they land.
I leave them there,
as heaven would leave them.
I'm drowning in paradise.

I tiptoe past a trickling stream of rain
and my shadow dances across with me.
It looks like she's flying,
and she is.
What a dream!
Cool blue chutes of grass
jut up between my toes.
And I try to focus on things that are "important"
but I canâ??t because
life just seems so simple.

The tree's long silky leaves whisper
the earth's secrets with the help of the breeze.
The willow sways
like a graceful silvery nymph.
She is alive.
The earth is alive.

I stand alone in the glade
The heavens are a misty grey,
but my soul is in the rainbow,
dancing with the colors;
Pouring into bloom.
My mind is free.
No burdens.
No thoughts.
Just life.
Plain, simple, beautiful
