It's not like I fall apart every time you leave
It's not like it breaks my heart to watch you fall asleep
It's not as if I open my eyes every time we kiss
Just to check you're still there and because it's you I start to miss

It's not as if I feel myself surrender to your embrace
Or catch myself staring, memorizing your face
It's not like I see forever written in your eyes
But I know I'm in denial, caught up in my own lies

I know I sit there, over analysing every word
And even when you sing off key it's the most beautiful thing I've heard
And I know, even when I'm dreaming, you're never off my mind
But though I try my hardest, I can't keep it all inside

So I know I say I love you more times than I can count
But I need to hear you say it back, to bury all my doubt
And I know sometimes I hold you tight, don't let you wander free
But I hate it when you walk away; you're everything to me
