The Hurt That You Hide

by Timothy r   Feb 26, 2006

I wish you wouldn`t laugh when we talk
I can see through your admirable disguise
The hurt that you hide, deep inside
Causing you to build impenetrable walls

I wish you would smile without tears
I can see loneliness through your legendary eyes
The hurt that you hide, deep inside
Begging for a life without fear

I wish you could feel the sun on your face
I can see the darkness that dulls your shine
The hurt that you hide, deep inside
Locking the doors to your loving place

I wish you could open your heart
I can see myself cutting though the binds
The hurt that you hide, deep inside
Leading you into my open arms

I wish you could see us one day together
I can see happiness in our lives
The hurt that you hide, deep inside
Becoming a nightmare gone forever

I loved this because as the girl in the poem, I hide everything inside until I don't know whether to trust love. It's an honest poem and one of the best love poems I've read so far. Beautiful imagery and great word choice. I'm really amazed.

Do you think you can check out some of my featured ones, if you ever felt like it?
