She

by Eli   Mar 3, 2006

Glossy and white complexion
Kind, dark spheres of vision
Winding, lengthy black hair

The greatest artist worked on her for months
She’s far more than a bold beauty
Far more than the perfectly cut Genevian diamond.

She played hide and seek by herself
What did she seek?
She had bricks of burden of her shoulders.
I couldn’t help her, I already tried..
She was scared to let me in.

She had so much to give, and so much to share
But didn’t know how to express all which she contained.

She put me on hold like an operator
And never returned to the line
I sent her the bill, it said “tell me why.”

Whats she so afraid of…
I won’t hurt her…
So apprehensive of the thought of me
I can’t explain, I can’t express what im feeling either

It seems like we’re still strangers to each other
I think it will always be like that
Distance, time and plans differ

I wish I was with her
I don’t want to complain anymore
I’m down, tired, confused, hurt.

Shes self made
Had so much riding

She held onto the reins tightly
Her spurs of care, knowledge and love, pierced people
Made them think. Made me think.

She reached me, then she didn’t have a back up plan.
Im ignored now
My word was once respected, but I’m just the sirens you hear in the background at night
When youre sleeping, when its late, when you just want to get your rest.
That’s ok, rest.

You caused me to fall, but you didn’t catch me.
I don’t play the lottery, yet you gambled with my emotions

Pick me up!
Only to help me up off the dirty ground
My hands are bloody and scared

I got up.with leaves on my jacket.
I wiped them off, like a gentlemen.
I didn’t say a word.

I walked away and this time I turned around
Only to see what I was going to be missing

She was gone.
