Memories of Tears

by Michael   Mar 4, 2006

I always thought
that the heart pounding
lush
feeling called love
would keep me immortal
every time I glanced at you.

Yet, like the shadows on a stormy day
you disappear
while love turns to tears.

Romance flowed through me
excitement struck me when
you where there
but shyness blinded me
and embarrassment sealed my lips.

A rose,
my love to offer,
sealed with red flared petals
a vine forest green stem
a morning breeze scent.

Yet time passed me
present became past
I felt like carrying guilt on my back
the lingering taste of venom in tears.

My love
eager to be released
but the image of you
had deteriorated and died,
like the flower that I left behind.

Another poem already? Yup! This is one of my poems that I was nominated in freshman poetry slam. Unfortanetly I didn't win. I guess it was this poem that got me in there, but I think I didn't stood a chance. SO yah..
