Beat me for loving another

by Kristi White   Mar 10, 2006

I stand before you now and
I speak what's on my mind.
Tears run down my face
but it's to late to back out this time.

No more running, no more hiding.
Its time to stand up for myself.
I've tried to make it work with you
but I've fallen for someone else.

Go ahead and hit me.
It's the same as what it was.
No matter how hard I try,
I'm never good enough.

Add another bruise to my face
to match my jagged heart.
Spit upon the pieces
as you shred it all apart.

Add the slashes to my arms
and blame them on my razor.
Why dont you just slit my throat,
actually do me the favor?

Slap me around a little
and knock me to the floor.
Kick me while I'm down
which leaves me ashamed and sorry for.

Send more tears running down
beneath these crystal eyes.
Make me feel the dirt within.
Watch the burns incise.

Speak of the unspeakable,
that someone can love someone like me.
Watch me as i walk to him
to be treated how I should be.

Watch me turn my back on you,
finally leaving you behind.
You can hit this girl all you want
but strength is in the mind.
