Regret

by The Spirit of Ash   Mar 11, 2006

I can take the rain clashing down on the window sill
That doesn't bother me
I can take a few tears wanting release and let them spill
Letting out the hurt in me
In the cold, all alone
Sitting here, on my own
I remember you, and what use to be
Wishing I could change the past
And what really saddens me

I can take a few whispers about me and you
Don't care about that
I can take a few questions and say what is really true
How, when, and where at
And everyday, I regret
About what I cannot forget
The words in my heart for you
Were left unspoken; oh if only you knew

And what hurts the most
Was being so close
And wishing on every star
That you wouldn't have to be so far
And dreaming about that night
When you lost your last fight
All I could do was cry
So helplessly, and watch you die
