The Roses aren't red

by Bethan   Mar 11, 2006

Who said the roses are red
And the violets are blue?
Cos from what I know of flowers,
That certainly isn't true.

Roses are many colours,
Like the people of this earth,
So to say that they're all red
Discredits their true worth

And also discredits the love
Traditionally shown through this rhyme,
So why not make your own
Show you care and take the time,

Look if you're stuck, read mine,
It might help you make a start
I wrote it for someone special,
Someone I love with all my heart,

'Roses are multicoloured
As are rainbows too,
I had never known true love,
Till I fell in love with you.'

Because Roses are multicoloured not red,
And violets aren't always blue,
I replaced the violets with rainbows,
To make sure the rhyme rang true

The inspiration of this rhyme is truth,
And no matter what I say or do,
The honest truth is this,
I will always love you.
