The Mingling of Two Broken Hearts

by katie   Mar 13, 2006

Second best; two words left unspoken yet in my memory cease to rest.
You thought that I couldn't see it.
When you said you were in love with me - you lied through your teeth.
Did you ever think of me?
Half hearted smiles tell a whole hearted tale, I've tried my best to please you yet somehow I managed to fail.
Sometimes it's the words unspoken that hurt the most.
Sticks, stones, and lust broke my bones, your words hit even harder.
It's simple to forgive, impossible to forget.
For you all I've ever felt was love, for me you only regret.
Forgive me for I am sorry I was not what you desired, loving you is quite a job, it seems I have been fired.
