Rewritten

by Sorefromreality   Mar 13, 2006

I rewrote my relationship
as if it were perfect
i will say he loved me
though he said we could not be

my book is a fairytale
b/c i made up lies
it was love and true bliss
b/c the truth i did disguise

i rewrote my love
so i would feel better
in reality i was a lovesick fool
but i pretended to be clever

i'll say i knew all along
that he would leave
i don't want to admit
that i was so naive

i rewrote my tears
like they never started falling
i'm trying to cover reality
but honesty keeps calling

i have rewritten he and i
as though we'll always last
but in real life we are
already a part of each other's past

Thanks for commenting on my poem. ^.^

I like this poem. The second verse threw me off a little, but besides that the flow and everything is great. I love the way you compare your past to a story you can rewrite into a 'fairytale', it keeps the reader interested and gets them thinking.

Thanks for adding a great poem to the world. I had a longer comment, but I hit a bad botton.
