Stained Glass Heart

I'm rededicating this poem to my #1 girl Nikki. Every word belongs to you hun.

I'm just a girl with a stained glass heart
And you're the only one who saw through it from the start
Through all the colours I wanted to show
You brought out the best in me so everyone could know
Finally someone understood who I am and want to be
You saw what beauty I hold inside that everyone else refused to see
We've been best friends for what feels like a lifetime plus a day
Though it hasn't actually been that long, I know you anyway
I got to know a girl who somehow mirrors me
A rarety of sorts, such drama queens as we
We began to look out for each other and gave the best advice we could
and just hope we were saying the right thing like every best friend would
So I'll list off every place I wish you wouldn't go
But if you go and see I'm right, I won't say 'I told you so'
I'll just promise to be here waiting to catch your every tear
It may not be that much at all, just a listening ear
But we don't need much, just a little faith
Yeah, faith in God, faith in friends and maybe just some plain old faith
Praying we'll make it through though some are misunderstood
and simply believing that if it's meant to be, everything will be all good
But God forbid we should ever part
Please never forget that girl with the stained glass heart
