Shulammite

by Zundricia   Mar 28, 2006

Someone once told me of a beautiful, black maiden; she was a shulammite
Country, yet sweet and pure, her skin glowing against the skies at night
She was as a cluster of henna, her eyes as those of doves, how endearing
Like a lily among thorny weeds, a mere saffron; tell me this you're hearing
Just as she was to him, allow me to be to you, let me be your shulammite
Come what or who may, I will love you with all my might
Yes, I want to share your entire world, let me be your shulammite girl

Someone once told me that his banner over her was love
To him her beauty, compassion and voice were more than enough
To make his heart beat, her expressions even better than wine
Admittedly she was lovesick he was always on her mind
Intoxicating to him, she was as beautiful as the full moon, as pure as the sun
And just like she with him, away to a world of our own, let us run
I can assure you that you'll be satisfied, if you'll only let me be your shulammite

Like the shulammite maiden my love for you will never be sold
For you are truly dazzling to me, catching my eye like that of gold
There's no limit to the love that I'm giving, its coming from deep inside
I'd give anything to make you as special as he was to that shulammite
Self sacrificing in every since of the word, there's something in my heart
Confident that no where else is better, Its been better here from the start
We should be together, adore me, call me to you and let me see
That the one who is comely and beautiful to you is me
Constantly I will lean upon you; you're in my sight
Admiring and respecting you
--- As I become your Shulammite
