A New Type Of Joke

by Andy Casper   Jan 27, 2004

Another joke has shown its face
But this one came at a slower pace
I always thought a joke was for fun
Now I understand the meaning, which is it’s done
I can’t stop thinking that it’s my fault
When I stopped to think about it, it was you with a sudden hault
I don't know what this is that I am feeling
It's like my heart, layer by layer, is pealing
Soon there will be nothing their but empty space
Like no one running a million-mile race.
I guess you could say this was just one big set up from the start
She put a target on my heart long ago and now I can see that dart
It struck with an amazing force,
The impact left me horse
But not a horse that means in voice
But the whole body, from one old choice
I would like to tell you a story of a man and of a women
This in not a story of a nice man’s wins
It’s the downfall of the one you would least expect
But I'm jumping ahead lets go back to the day they met
He was a lonely man in the wrong kind of relationship
She was a young woman who put his balance on a tip
The girl was sent from above
While the man sat waiting to be saved by love
Love quickly spread between their hearts
No one knew that they were different parts
And then something was found that the young girl tried to hide
Just then the young man felt like he had died
The young man was still alive but his heart failed to beat
The broken heart was the forshadow of his defeat
The girls says it wasn't her fault, till never happen again
The boy poured his heart out to her, but he felt like Yang with no Yin
Just in case you’re lost, the young man is I; the young girl is you
Now no one cam tell me what to do
My heart is set, but my mind is blank
When I heard it from your lips my whole body sank
And no I ask everyone, will we make it through, should I even try
I never would have thought of you as another passerby
Never before has my love been so true
But now it seems like was are almost through
If we made it to see another day, would it be the same
How could it, she has been tainted as I sit in shame
My trust for her is non-existent
To the furthest corners of the world it has been sent
As for my heart it could be ran through the strings of a harp
I didn't know anything could feel this sharp
So now I will leave you with one final thought
Next time something happens think about what will happen if you’re caught
