You and Him

by Jeff C   Mar 30, 2006

You and him, I wish it wasn't true
He's so not good enough for you
I'm probably not worthy of your grace
But he'll put you back in that place
The place you worked so hard to leave
You're the one he will deceive
I'll admit I don't know that jerk
But I know you two just can't work
I don't want to write these horrible lines
But that guy's gonna hurt a friend of mine
I admit I don’t know what he did
But I have an idea of the pain you hid
I like you too much to sit idly by
To say I approve, I'd have to lie
It might be partly my regret
On that truth I'd place a bet
I wish I’d said something back then
I wish I’d done something back when
But that doesn't change what I've said
I can't regret what will be read
I know what I wrote to be true
I hope you can see he's not for you.
