Gateways of Ice

by Joey   Mar 30, 2006

My eyes were gateways to desolate realms
Portals into the nothingness
A looking glass made of ice, never changing, always dead

My heart a fiery Kingdom build around her statue
Yet she can't see past the citywalls
Towards the sunlit glade

My eyes lingering dull and listlessly
The mind behind it never sleeps
Yet not shrouded by the sorrow
But the mistress who dares to please
And gaze into tomorrow

For once I wish to see this dream, forged within reality
With my eyes and not my heart, so she would see
The reflection of her beauty

I am the mirror image, trapped within cold, clouded glass

My eyes are gateways to blissful realms
Portals shut by nothingness
A looking glass made of ice, ever changing, never dead
Please open these gates forged by what once was dread
And see inside, our love instead...
