Carry the World

by Darkfire   Mar 30, 2006

I falter beneath the weight of the world.
I look to all those who pass me by.
Call to them, I do.
But none can hear.
The world is so heavy.
How long will I last?
Suddenly the weight gets lighter.
I turn and a smile greets me.
Hello, it laughs.
Who are you? Why do you care when they do not?
I, too, carry pain, it answers.
Together, it says boldly, we will carry the world.
Thank you, thank you with all my heart!
Don't thank me, it grins, just listen to my pain.
Let me cry on your shoulder, it begs.
Listen, it whispers, and I will carry the world with you.
