Looking Back

It takes a lifetime,
To find the one you love.
But in an instant,
I knew you were from heaven above.
The road to happiness is long,
With danger and deadly weather.
But I know we'd have made it,
If we had traveled together.
You've aleady seen the worst of me,
The part I keep hidden away.
But I can never find fault in you,
You're perfect in every way.
I tried to hide my feelings,
And pull them deep inside.
But every time I lied to you,
Another part of me died.
I might be the worst person in the world,
That I will confess.
Though through all the things you've done to me ,
I love you nonetheless.
I know that its over,
Between the two of us.
You even gave me a second chance,
Without much of a fuss.
I look back now,
And wish I righted all my wrongs.
But at the least I need to let you know,
I loved you all along.
