Still There

by Brooke Mason   Apr 5, 2006

Memories don't seem too kind to me
They won't go away
these memories of you and of me
Forgetting is foolish, but to remember...
To remember holds more pain then
you could ever imagine

I look in the fire and I see your face
I listen to the wind and hear you whispering
feeling your fingers through my hair
I feel your heart beating in my chest
and even though I belong to another
You are still there

I can't seem to get rid of you
You've intoxicated me, captured me,
and put me under a spell
I won't be released, but I'm afraid
I fear losing you again

Still, I must be let go, love
I am his, no longer yours
I beg of you, stop this pain in my heart
and release me to the winds
Stop your whispers, your enchantments
and set me free
