Sleeping with his Ghost

by Helena   Apr 8, 2006

She lays in their bed in the middle of the night
with only her memories of their love to hold her tight
and like the night wind that blows
he walked out of her life with a kiss goodbye
he wiped the tear from her eye, even thou he said goodbye
swearing he'll always love her
but just like a gust of wind
he blew away

Every night she holds the phone close
waiting for his voice to rock her to sleep
he'll never know what power he holds
for her heart and soul belongs only to him
she crys to the night winds
to bring him back again to her loving arms
yet knows her crys are still unheard
and she'll cry herself to sleep once more, holding his picture
she'll wait until the sun never shines again for him
she'll wait until he tells her not too

She knows that tonight she'll be sleeping with his ghost
tonight she'll only have his voice
tonight she'll tell him once more how much she loves him and so much more
but tonight she'll have only her memories of their love too hold her close.
