As I turned sixteen
I had lovely dreams
How will that time arrive
In what garb and what shape
Will it be a love at first sight
Or it will wait after a fight
Will it be a boy in my class
Exchange notes and letters follow
Will he be a faculty member
Who would leave his wife for me
Will he be colleague in working place
Working together days and nights
Will he be a stranger sitting beside me
In a coffee corner
Will it be a salesman
Articulate in selling things
Will it be a doctor, I visit
Will it be bus driver
Who would drive me through
Moments of happiness and sorrows
Will it be a butler in service
Serving people with a smile
Will it be an army man fighting in another country
I stand awaiting his return
How will he come
My sweet dream man
He will bring me buds of love
Flowers of passion
I will weave thread of comfort
He and me and life within
