Extent Of My Love

by Always4You   Apr 9, 2006

If I could write you a poem
Of my exact feelings, I would
Then maybe, just maybe
My heavy heart would start healing

Not heavy with burdens I bare
But the agony I feel
Because the extent of my love
Will never be revealed

If you knew the depths
And the height of my emotions
You would finally realize
My love is far greater than the oceans

Nothing can be compared
To what I feel for you
The stars in the heavens
Are just too few

The sun in the sky
Doesn't shine quite bright enough
Having all of these feelings
Locked inside is so tough

If I could describe my love
I would call it a rose
In the warm weather
It continually grows

If not a rose
Then maybe a song
It's catchy tune
Stays with you all day long

My love for you
Is forever carved in stone
But because I cannot explain it
It will forever be unknown

Took some bravery to come back and deal with what I said calmly, i admire that. Sorry I reacted the way I did, it was just I hate it when people make sweeping statements about things like they know what theyre talking about inside out, which I'm afriad to say you dont. Nevertheless, if that is the type of "poetry" which you like, then write and read as much of it as you want, thanks again for the positive comments

Ok, I appreciate you weren't meant to be mean in your comment, but I dont think you can make sweeping statements like that, when you yourself, seem to only write pitiful love poems which hold no real substance. And your metaphors are incredibly poor, such as "Is stronger than any stone", now lets compare tht too "sun drenched lands of aid pleas" or "He taught god's unforntunate creations his mother tongue", which do you think is better? And tell me, in any of your poems can the reader identify any deeper layer meanings except something about love? I can tell you loads of alternative meanings in my poems. And tell me, which famous poets do you get inspiration from? I actually based my poem on a poem written called Timothy Winters, maybe you should go and have a look at it. All I'm saying is, I use poetry to show deep, important issues in life and the way it is worded, is how my heart wants it to be worded, unlike your's where all it is based upon are shallow feelings of short term "love" which will never suffice to anything. I feel sorry for whoever you write this stuff for.

As always, that was wonderful!! You truly have a way with words. Even if you cant explain your feelings, you write it beautifully. Great job 5/5!
