My Gift

by Dolores DLF   Apr 12, 2006

I sit here and contemplate of all I'd wish to own;
Like pretty jewelry...pretty things...I've never known.

In reality, comparing two things- good or bad;
One making you smile, one making you sad.

Yet, I think of how wonderful it would be;
To receive a gift from God for me to see.
A gift that can fill my soul and heart;
A present that will set my life apart.

Now I realize, the gift to me was so grand you see;
Not really knowing THEN how great it would be.
My prayers were answered many months ago;
When I received a gift for me to show.
I opened it today with a smile on my face;
Knowing it was from God and all His Grace.
A wonderful thought a beautiful sight;
A gift that made it...all alright.

Not attained by money old or new;
The truth is...my gift was the memory of you!
