Emotions

by Jessica   Apr 14, 2006

My heart hammers
as you draw near
My eyes are locked on yours
As you hypnotize me

My palms become damp
as my nerves go haywire
the blood pulses through my veins
And my knees become weak

Emotions constrict through me
I don't know whether to stay or leave
Would you care if I left?
or would you like me stay

My emotions become jumbled
As you fingers wrap around mine
I feel safe and secure with you near
The world could end, and I wouldn't know

When he lied to me
And I became confused
You were there
To shine truth in my eyes

My breath is in-sync with yours
Your chest is sold against my cheek
Your fingers run through my hair
And my eyes fall closed

Sleeping no longer bothers me
Because I know I will wake up
And you will still be
holding me close to you

I did dream that you left
And I didn't know why
But when my eyes fluttered open,
Your brown eyes were watching me

You asked if I was okay
And I said yes with a smile
You saw the fear behind my lie
But didn't dig deeper

You pulled me closer
And whispered things in my ear
My nightmares drifted
And I melted in your arms
